MBBS Admission in Private and Deemed Universities via NEET (UG)

How MBBS seats at private and deemed universities are filled through NEET (UG) and counselling, and what to prepare before each round.

By Grave Minds Editorial Team · Published · 5 min read

There is no separate entrance test for private MBBS seats in India. Every MBBS and BDS seat — government, private or deemed — is filled on NEET (UG) scores through counselling.

Which counselling covers which seats

  • Deemed universities — MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) counselling.
  • All-India Quota seats in government colleges — MCC counselling.
  • State quota and private colleges in a state — that state’s counselling authority.

Deemed universities in our database with MBBS programmes include MAHE Manipal, KIIT, SRMIST, Amrita, JSS AHER, DPU Pune and SOA.

Before counselling

  1. Register for every counselling you are eligible for.
  2. Understand the rules for each round: acceptance, upgradation and exit.
  3. Prepare documents: NEET scorecard, Class 10 and 12 certificates, identity, category and domicile certificates.
  4. Read the official fee documents for every college on your choice list.

See the medical pathway, or talk to a counsellor about building a choice list that fits your rank and budget.
