VITEEE Admission Guide: Application, Exam and Counselling Explained

How VIT’s B.Tech admission works — from the VITEEE application to counselling — and where to find the current dates on the official site.

VITEEE is the entrance examination Vellore Institute of Technology uses for B.Tech admission across its campuses. This guide explains the stages. For the current cycle’s dates, always use the official VITEEE site — our VITEEE page shows what we have verified and when.

The stages of VIT B.Tech admission

  1. Online application on the official VITEEE portal.
  2. Slot booking and admit card.
  3. The computer-based VITEEE exam.
  4. Results and rank.
  5. Counselling, where campus and branch are allotted by rank and availability.

Before you apply

Eligibility

B.Tech eligibility is based on Class 12 subjects and marks. Read the eligibility section in the current information bulletin — the official document is the only reliable reference.

Campuses and branches

VIT has more than one campus. A good rank is only half of it; deciding in advance which campus–branch combinations you would accept makes counselling much easier.

Preparing alongside JEE Main

Most VITEEE candidates also prepare for JEE Main. The syllabi overlap substantially, so a single preparation plan usually covers both — keep an eye on the separate application windows.
